Major Changes

Well, the last couple of weekends have been quite big at our house and I thought I'd put some pictures up to show our hard work!

Last Saturday was spent in the laundry room. For some reason our home builder built a beautiful home but really skimped when it came to the laundry room. It's an awesome room but just had one silly shelf...

I unfortunately got the camera after Adam did the demo but you can get the idea. Anyway, it was on our list as one of the first things to do when we moved into the house to get cabinets put in. We actually did it!!

It is so awesome now!! It's wonderful to be able to put stuff in there and close the doors. It has made my laundry room awesome and I LOVE it!! I was so excited how quickly Adam and his Dad got them up, too! Now I just need to find a sink and faucet and then we can start that next step.

As if that wasn't enough.... we also got our new furniture for the family room this weekend. Now this is a big deal because it was no less than 2 years ago that we decided our couch was looking pretty sad and we should start the hunt for a replacement. Then came a move, which really set us back but even with that we are just plain slow!! So, here are a couple of before picture:

And, here are the after pictures!!!

Now I just need to start the hunt for some accent pillows and possibly an area rug...probably a long ways down the road given how long it takes me to make decisions!!

Now, all of this is very exciting and I can't believe it has actually all happened and it seems all at once. The other crazy thing is that we now have furniture in our living room, we just moved some of the old family room furniture in there. This may not seem crazy to anybody else but when you know this is our third house and we've never had living room furniture it seems a bit more understandable. Now, when you know that I have always been adamant that when we buy a home it has a living and family room so that I can have a nice clean presentable living room to appear I have things in order -- but also have a family room so that the kids can be kids -- it's even more funny that we've never had furniture in there! So, here is the picture of my FINALLY furnished living room!!!

PHEW!! After all these changes we are tired!! Lots of heavy lifting and rearranging going on at our house last

That is very exciting, but you're right a lot of work. We are doing the same kind of things right now. I'm jealous of your laundry room. It looks awesome.

I'm so excited you have living room furniture;) The laundry room looks awesome too! When we first moved into our house and people would come to look at it...I would always tell them that my favorite room was the laundry room!

You are not the only one with no living room furniture. Our house in Tigard never had it just odds and ends. We moved to our new house in September and I STILL don't have living or dinning room furniture yet. We did order a dinning set for Christmas which will be here some day... Loves awesome!

Oh Amy! I love it. It's beautiful. I always love hear about whatever you do to your home because it give me hope. You know what i mean. you and I are kindred spirits in this regard. I think i'm the only person out of all my friends that still has hand me down, used furniture. I won't feel sorry for myself, i won't feel sorry for myself : )!
