Backyard Transformation

We have had a big project going on in our back yard for the last month or so and it's about time I post some pictures. It started because we have such a slope that when we moved in there was a large enough gap between the bottom of the fence and the yard that we could easily loose thing under the fence and then out to the busy & FAST street behind our house. What might we lose, you ask?? Well, one of the first things was a ball and then almost a small child who tried to follow after the ball. So... it's been a top priority that got put on the back burner but now has finally been done!!

Here's a good picture of the mud and muck that was our back yard for the month of April:

Here's the main wall that started the project in the first place (if you look you can see the gap I was referring to).

It was a pretty major project and they used all kinds of equipment and sloshed around in the mud for so long, everyday the kids would love to watch them and I was just saying my prayers about how grateful I was we decided to hire it done. A VERY wise decision on our part!

And now for the finished product!!

We ended up with more than double the grass space for the kids and all in all a very functional back yard for us! YIPPEE!!

We even topped it all off with a couple garden beds and a shed to hide all the lawn and garden tools.

With the heat this last few days we took advantage and actually got our garden planted which Kaelynn thought was a lot of fun. Now the hard part though, she's been asking everyday when the peas will be ready! ;-)

I think he's trying to figure out if anything is really going to grow on the side of our house. We didn't really have a lot of options for where to put a garden, so we'll see how it goes!

Looks great! I love the green, level grass. We haven't seen that at our house for years. A project for another year!

Amy how exciting to see pictures. I am so excited for your family. Your kids will love it and it is so nice to have the free entertainment that come with a fanced back yard!
