I love how my kids help me enjoy the little things in life more than I normally would. Today was a classic example that had me really laughing.
The girls and I were in the van and longer than normal errand to run and I had stopped to get a milkshake for the return trip. I divided it up so everyone had their own cup and the two of them were happily sucking away. Soon I hear the classic sound "ssccchh" from Alica's straw. I was a bit disappointed because I thought she was going to be upset, but nope. She started laughing that pure joy laughter kids do sometimes and I couldn't help but smile. She then did it again and again came that same joyful laughter. Soon her and Kaelynn were just cracking up at the sound Alicia's straw was making.
I love listening to them laugh like that and then when I thought about the irony of the situation and how that classic sounds signals the end of something delicious it made me laugh even more. Clearly she hasn't really figured that part out yet but it was just hilarious and I wished I could have videotaped the two of them. I used my better judgement though and kept my eyes on the road instead.

That is so adorable!
This is Merilee. Sorry.
that is so hilarious Amy! It's good to hear from you. Hannah says, "thank you, for the new picture you agve us. I love you Kaelynn and Alicia, Garrett says, "I miss you guys". Natalie says, "HI". We love you guys!
It's amazing that something as simple as the sound a straw makes when you must have every drop of your milkshake is totally universal and everyone who reads your story will totally get it.
It is a good reminder for me to pay more attention to what my kids find funny/interesting/amazing.
thanks
